Check this out, a cartoon from a South Carolina paper hard on the heels of two high-profile fatality cases. Look, I’m all in favor of free speech, but this is just nasty. The cartoon pretends that it is a dead cyclist’s fault for riding on the road! We should all be doing more riding, and this discourages it by blaming victim.

where is the cartoon?
I read news stories each and every day about accidents involving cyclists
the slant is always anti-cyclist
they take in all sorts of variables
“the cyclist was not wearing a helmet”
or whatever
never to they look at the basic fact
if the car or truck involved in the accident is going one mile an hour over the speed limit they are speeding…
and I bet that police do not have the sense to check the drivers phone and email records for the time around the accident
Just posted the bike cartoon image. Thanks!
Post the address of the paper running the cartoon so we can all send our regards and thoughts…
