HELP NEEDED! New Orleans Hit and Run

Please help us find the driver of the dark-colored, four-door sedan that hit and paralyzed Omar Hindi on Monday, August 7, 2017.

The crash happened on the Westbound downslope of the Seabrook Bridge in New Orleans near Lakefront Airport. The sedan should be expected to have damage to its front passenger bumper/headlight and to its front passenger quarter panel.

According to eyewitness and good Samaritan, Sid Stallings, Mr. Hindi had lights on his bike and was riding on the right-hand side of the roadway. The driver never touched his brakes. Sid stopped his car and ran across the roadway to keep Mr. Hindi from being struck again as he laid unconscious in the roadway. Sid also worked with emergency responders to help save Mr. Hindi’s life. On behalf of Mr. Hindi’s family, we thank Sid Stallings for his selfless efforts in rendering aid to a person in need.

NOPD detectives are working the case. We are requesting that anyone seeing a vehicle fitting this description, especially in the area near this wreck, please report this to us ([email protected] or 504-274-2500) or NOPD’s Hit and Run Division (504-658-3210).

Thank you in advance for any help.
