S.C. LAWS TO KNOW

LETS GET THERE TOGETHER

We listened to the police, first responders, educators, and policy makers. There is a void in bicycle education. Existing models, where they are even in use, are staid and out-dated.

Who is teaching the generation of riders how to ride safely? And who is teaching drivers how to drive around cyclists? We were told that if cyclists don't do it, no one will.

So we did it. A year in the making.
Announcing the "Safe Streets Save Lives" campaign!

We partnered up with our state-wide bicycle advocacy group, the Palmetto Cycling Coalition. Relying on the PCC's advocacy experience, dynamic leadership, and network of clubs, and adding our view from the trenches and real world knowledge, the Project Team designed and produced a video PSA campaign, entitled Safe Streets Save Lives. The Safe Streets Save Lives (SSSL) project is the first initiative of its kind that is working towards reducing the number of automobile / bicycle crashes and deaths on South Carolina roads.

Watch The PSA Videos

  1. How to Ride Your Bike
  2. Signs n Signals
  3. How to Drive
  4. Let's get there together
Not only are these videos a model of how to improve bicycle safety, the innovative partnership between the PCC and BikeLaw is a model of how bike advocacy groups can work together to make cycling better and safer.

When roads improve for the safety of bicyclists, they become safer for all users.
