North Carolina lawyer and Bike Law founder, Ann Groninger believes that improving North Carolina bicycle safety will encourage more people to ride, which makes communities better places to live.
Legal Help In North Carolina Bicycle Accident Cases
North Carolina lawyer and Bike Law founder Ann Groninger’s motivations for focusing her practice on bicycle cases are selfish ones. She rides her bike for transportation and recreation and wants to be able to do it safely. Ann is also an active cyclocross racer.
Ann believes that improving North Carolina bicycle safety will encourage more people to ride, which makes communities better places to live. By enforcing the rights of cyclists who get hit, she’s helping to prevent the next crash.
With offices in Charlotte and Durham, Ann represents cyclists in Asheville, Raleigh, Durham, Greenville, Wilmington, Fayetteville, and throughout the state.
Have you been in a bike-car crash in North Carolina? Ann has handled dozens of bike accident claims and is ready to help you.
It just takes a minute to fill out the Bike Accident Report Form. To get started, all we need is your name, e-mail, phone number, and a few details about your crash.
Ann the Cycling Advocate
Ann has served as a powerful voice for bicyclists in North Carolina and across the country. Ann wrote a book on North Carolina bicycle laws. It’s called the “Ride Guide (BLB #1: North Carolina Bicycle Laws)” and can be downloaded here: Ride Guide NC.
Given Ann’s interest in bicycling laws, it is no surprise that she has been closely following the work of a legislative study group weighing changes in North Carolina’s bicycle laws. She recently submitted a letter to that group in support of two-abreast riding by bicyclists.
Ann’s advocacy work often takes the form of blog posts that combine her passion for cycling with her professional interests. In one post, Ann explained the important distinction between “bicycle crash” and “bicycle accident.” A blog post she wrote after about being buzzed by a motorist garnered more than 10,000 views. Ann is a firm believer that cyclists have both rights and responsibilities and she addressed that in a 2014 blog post.
Full-Time Bicycle Lawyer for N.C. Bicycle Accidents
Ann has been a full-time bicycle lawyer for over 5 years. She was the first network lawyer for Bike Law. She has helped create and solidify Bike Law’s unique mission of client and cause advocacy. Because of the unique challenges posed by arcane contributory negligence law, Ann has tried and won bicycle cases across the state.
Ann has ridden a bicycle everywhere she has lived (North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Michigan, Louisiana) and around the world (Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Chile, Nepal). Ann has also spent the last 15+ years in North Carolina courtrooms, fighting for the rights of individuals. Bike Law North Carolina is a combination of these passions.
